Leo and Jen: A Blog

A family in Raleigh, NC and random things they do

We have a minister! Rev. Jennifer Holder is from the Unity Church of the Triangle, a mere six blocks from our house and across the square from our reception venue.

This is what Unity Church looks like, although we won't be married inside./Photo borrowed from Eventful.com.

Since Leo and I are not members of a church, it seemed easiest to choose one nearby. I called them up months ago to see if anyone there could/would marry us. I spoke to Jennifer, who seemed friendly and was not bothered by our preference for a joyful but slightly laid back service. She also lives downtown — a plus in our book.

We met with her in person Tuesday and loved her. She asked good questions about us and what type of feeling we wanted to convey at the ceremony. She loved our ideas for how to set up the ceremony in Nash Square.

And after I turned in the paperwork, I realized that we sort of know her husband through Twitter! Small world.
