Plenty of bakeries offer scones. No one, apparently, bakes strawberry scones. At least not this time of year. One thing we probably should have done with this challenge was work harder at the start to identify items that might be seasonal. Perhaps bakeries abound in strawberry scones in the spring.
However, I was thrilled to try my hand at this one. I always tell people I don’t really care for scones, and I have never baked them. Not only did they turn out well, but they tasted amazing! I only wish I had thought to buy some clotted cream. The side of strawberry jam did just fine.
