Leo and I had just returned from Australia Wednesday night. Friday morning we were tired. We had bags under our eyes.
And we had a photo shoot scheduled. When planning our engagement session with the photographer, fall sounded ideal. Sure, it’s a full year after we became engaged, but our wedding photos will be spring/summer. Some fall images of us around downtown would be nice.
Of course, the perfect sunlight for photos is between 4:30 and 6:30 at this time of year. Not wanting to draw Leo from work early, we chose our Friday off to do the shoot.
I can’t claim we were motivated as we walked over to the State Capitol building. But the weather was perfect. We found our photographer and she began posing us for the pictures.
Soon, we were teasing each other a bit, having fun with the shoot. She instructed us into slightly unnatural poses. At one point, Leo and I stared into each other’s eyes so close that he looked like Cyclops.
But as the sun began to set and we stood there with our foreheads pressed together, I felt closer with Leo than ever. I forgot all about the jet lag and just remembered why I’m marrying him.
Today, our photos are ready. Some are fantastic. We look funny in others; the shoot was certainly good practice for us as we hone our modeling skills. Check them out on our photographer’s blog.
